"Genes and Machines" is the latest project from the mind of Leon Gruenbaum. The group explores the intersection and collision between man/woman and machine, performing music which ranges from dreamy/ambient to rock/funk, etc., with a focus on unusual and meticulously crafted electronic sounds.  In the full version all parts are performed live.

Mr. Gruenbaum conceived of the world's first relativistic music keyboard, a patented MIDI controller called the Samchillian Tip Tip Tip Cheeepeeeee. He has recorded and performed internationally with this instrument with guitarist Vernon Reid (Living Colour), James Blood Ulmer and others.

While Genes and Machines is based in New York, Leon is returning to his old stomping grounds here in the Boston area, where he grew up and graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Harvard.

Local legend Leon Rich, dubbed “Boston’s answer to Frank Zappa” (http://www.leonrich.com) and ethereal outfit Faebotica (http://www.myspace.com/faebotica) will be special guests with Genes and Machines on May 29th at the Arlington Center for the Arts, located at 41 Foster Street adjacent to the Gibbs School in Arlington.

Advance tickets are $10 and are available via PayPal secure online purchasing via dark_sky_anders@yahoo.com .

The show is all-ages and runs from 7-10 PM.
